NYC
We started off our whirlwind NYC trip at the Statue of Liberty. Who knew that getting tickets to the Statue was so hard! Even though the weather was awful (cold and drizzly) there were still quite a few visitors to the Statue of Liberty. We came to this as our first official stop (just like the immigrants!). The history of this amazing structure was impressive and educational (too bad for Noah--he had some writing to do about his trip and the sight seeing)!
We also managed to come during the EARTH DAY events! So we saw some cool events and learned about ways that New York and New Jersey are saving energy and becoming more green!
The Statue of Liberty
The history of this statue from conception to completion is very interesting. It was nice for the boys to show such interest and to see an important symbol of this country. They were completely engaged and asked a lot of good questions. So far, it is a great family trip.
We got pedestal tickets and seeing the inside of the statue is unnerving. We had to climb about 176 stairs but just chalk it up to daily exercise. Day 1= SUCCESS!!!
