I used to be adverse to the pacifier. When Noah was born, I refused to let him have a pacifier. I was afraid of "nipple confusion" and had read all of the breast-feeding books and information. By the time Nate arrived, I was an old-hand and let down my defenses against the dreaded pacifier. Not to mention, the boy came out with him hand in his mouth. He was my wake up call to the importance of a pacifier. Nic has also been a pacifier-baby. He loves, loves, loves the Soothie. Since they have been through a lot over the last few months with multiple transitions, we decided to go easy with him and the pacifier. Nate had until 24 then it was bye-bye paci. I have already started to wean Nic off of his and the results are amazing. So, he was basically mute before, he would motion with his hands, grunt occasionally or just shake his head. Now with limited time with the pacifier, only at bed time or when he is sleepy. His vocabulary has exploded.
So he is also learning his facial expression, meaning he can't control his face yet. It is hilarious to see him switch from a frown to a smile and back again. He also has a new word "uh-uh" probably a result of hearing it so much. To hear him say it, sets me into uncontrollable giggles. He is so cute and sweet. My baby....
