Even More NYC

Ellis Island

As part of the trip to the Statue of Liberty we went to Ellis Island. Seeing the initial port of entry for so many of our respective Americans was exciting. At the island, we got to see the various points of view about immigration and how this country was populated.

Ground Zero

Another very important site that we wanted to see was Ground Zero. We can still remember where we were when the planes hit and what the impact was on our country. We visited the site and visited the museum! It was a little difficult explaining to the boys about the significance of this place without scaring them or worrying them, but important for them to understand the site and what it means to the country. Very moving!!

Times Square

Another very important site to visit was the awe-inspiring Times Square. It was every bit as overwhelming as it appears on TV. There were people everywhere. Jumbotron TV were all over the place with large bill boards and flashing lights and moving traffic. It was too much for me but Jason and the boys loved it all. They were just enthralled by the lights, noise, and people! We went to the M& M store, the Hershey store, the Disney Store! We also visited 5th Avenue where we went to Tiffany's, Trump Towers, and FAO Shwarz.
