Water

So the Tate family has had a bit of an adventure recently. Several days ago, we awoke to water literally running down the drive way. We recently had county water officials come out and look at a suspected leak in the front yard only to be told that everything was peachy keen. So what a shock to see this torrent of water. We called again to have a county official come and check things out and we went to work and school. Only to come home and find that our water had been turned off completely. WHAT!!!!

So we worked frantically for over 24 hours, multiple phone calls, and several plumber estimates later...still no water. Not evening going to talk about the ridiculous price of water line replacements...(felt like a scam job to me). Thankfully, we have a neighbor who is not only a master plumber but a great guy who came and helped out and restored order to the Tate household. Thank God for good neighbors!
Only later, did we find out this this torrential waterfall across the driveway is not only normal but has been going on for over 15 years!!! WHAT!!!! Yep, this problem was investigaged extensively by the previous owner with everything checking out great. Why didn't the county know this and inform us instead of shutting off the water. Who understands the ways of a beuracracy? Anyway, all is well again at the Tate household!!
Whew....what an adventure!
By the way, I now have a much more appreciative view of the importance of clean, fresh water. We already try to conserve energy and recycle. Jason's environmental background is always fresh in our minds. But this definitely felt more personal and impacted the whole family (even if the kids thought it was fun to take a bird bath instead of a real bath for one night).

This is just one of the beautiful views we have in Tooele, Utah. It is so amazing seeing the mountains everyday. When I look at the mountains, I can only think God is amazing.

Jason always looks so good in his uniform. It has been 9 years in and he still looks like a 2nd LT.
